The several strategies been implemented by the ministry in achieving her objectives include:

  • To develop and strengthen a comprehensive and integrated social database for the purpose of planning, monitoring and evaluation of programs for target groups;
  • To increase the level of skills and knowledge as well as to empower target groups to enable their effective participation in nation buildings;
  • To increase and diversify the opportunities for target groups towards enhancing their effective participation in nation building;
  • To strengthen the networking both at the national and international levels to facilitate the sharing of information, experience and expertise;
  • To establish effective monitoring and evaluating mechanism to improve the implementation of policies and programs;
  • To disseminate information on facilities and services provided by various agencies and organizations for the benefits of women, family and the community.

Through the ministry, the Uduaghan administration has done quite a lot in effecting and impacting lives. Some of the measure taken include the feeding and payment of stipends to 781 ex-lepers in the state; evacuation of 250 mentally challenged persons for treatment with stipends paid to them; care for the elderly; education, health and nutritional support for 250 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC); training of community leaders; giving grant-in-aid to communities for embarking in self-help projects in their communities.

A major landmark achievement of the ministry under the present administration was the signing into law, the Child Right Bill with the establishment of family courts across the state by the Chief Judge where cases of child abuse would be handled. The ministry is currently liaising with ministry of information towards gazetting of the Act.
